Jelly FIsh In Dubail Mall Aquarium

Jelly Fish.
Box Jellyfish is best known for its extremely powerful venom -- being the most deadly in the animal kingdom. Stings from such species are excruciatingly painful, either initially or as an after-effect, and are often fatal to their prey and sometimes even for humans. However, not all species of Box Jellyfish are this dangerous to humans.

Beisa Oryx at Al Areen Wildlife Bahrain

Beisa Oryx.

Oryx stand just over a metre at the shoulder and weigh around 175 kilograms. They have a grey coat with a white underside, separated from the grey by a stripe of black, there are also black stripes where the head attaches to the neck, along the nose and from the eye to the mouth and on the forehead. There is a small chestnut coloured mane. The ringed horns are thin and straight. They are found on both sexes and typically a measure of 75-80 cm is considered big.
Oryx live in semi-desert and steppes where they eat grass, leaves, fruit and buds. East African Oryx are able to store water by raising their body temperature (so as to avoid perspiration). They gather in herds of five to forty animals often with females moving at the front and large male guarding from the rear. Some older males are solitary.

Spotted Sting Rays In Dubai Mall Aquarium

Stingrays.
The flattened bodies of stingrays allow them to effectively conceal themselves in their environment. Stingrays do this by agitating the sand and hiding beneath it. Because their eyes are on top of their bodies and their mouths on the undersides, stingrays cannot see their prey; instead, they use smell and electro-receptors (ampullae of Lorenzini) similar to those of sharks. Stingrays feed primarily on mollusks, crustaceans, and occasionally on small fish. Some stingrays' mouths contain two powerful, shell-crushing plates, while other species only have sucking mouthparts

Spotted Sting Rays In Dubai Mall Aquarium

orange spotted Stingrays.

like the one shown just below, are hardy, active, and easy to keep in the proper aquarium. But they have a poisonous stinger on their tails, and there is a substantial probability that they could become established and reproduce in our native water. So most states in the United States ban them,
Sting Rays will eat Ghost Shrimp and larger shrimp sold in supermarkets for human consumption. You should remove the shrimps shells. Sting Rays also eat angleworms

Sea Dragon At Dubai Mall Aquarium

Sea Dragon.

Sea Dragons are arguably the most spectacular and mysterious of all ocean fish. Though close relatives of sea horses, sea dragons have larger bodies and leaf-like appendages which enable them to hide among floating seaweed or kelp beds. Sea dragons feed on larval fishes and amphipods, such as and small shrimp-like crustaceans called mysids ("sea lice"), sucking up their prey in their small mouths. Many of these amphipods feed on the red algae that thrives in the shade of the kelp forests where the sea dragons live.

Lion Fish At Dubai Mall Aquarium

Lion Fish.

The lionfish is not native to the tropical region of the world, but various species can be found worldwide. Due to a recent introduction, the lionfish has been spotted in the warmer coral regions of the eastern Atlantic Ocean around the Azores and extending into the Mediterranean Sea, and also in the Caribbean Sea and in the Red Sea . It has been speculated that this introduction may well have been caused when Hurricane Andrew destroyed an aquarium in southern Florida. DNA from captured lionfish in this region shows that they all originated from the same six or seven fish. the lion fish has a low breeding system

Reem Gazelle in Bahrain Deserts

Reem Gazelle.

This is a less common species and prefers the sandy terrain at the edges of the Empty Quarter. In contrast to the Arabian gazelle, the reem gazelle gives birth to twins. Like the oryx, the reem gazelle can cover long distances searching for new pastures.

Crocodile at Dubai Wildlife Park

Crocodile in Action.

Just because crocodiles are not visibly present does not mean that an area is safe to swim. In fact, crocodiles that view humans as prey usually hide at the first sign of humans (i.e. a car parking or footsteps.)

A 6-meter-long crocodile can lie completely invisible in less than a foot of muddy water.
Large crocodiles have the strongest biting force of any animal alive- exceeding 5000 psi.
Most attacks by large crocodiles are over within a few seconds or less.
Most human victims succumb to drowning long before dismemberment and consumption take place.
Crocodiles become more aggressive during the mating season.
Crocodiles can move very quickly over short distances on land.
Crocodiles won't hunt their prey on land over a distance longer than a couple of feet. They don't have a high stamina and don't want to waste energy. If you can escape their first strike and run a couple of meters, you are usually safe.
Crocodiles are adept at learning and memorizing routines, such as the location of nearby campers or the routes of travelers.
In water, crocodiles tend to drag their prey under and drown them.
Crocodiles can slow their metabolism to such an extent that a tree with an intruder hiding in its branches may be guarded continuously for several weeks, without breaks for food.
Crocodiles have strong muscles for closing their jaws and holding them shut, but weak muscles for opening them.
There is a sensitive flap in a crocodile's throat, known as the glottis, which they use for breathing. As a result, as with some other predators, forcing the arm into the throat may encourage release, although this is not certain by any means and may instead lead to the arm being severed.
Sometimes, an attacking crocodile will bite, hold on, and then rapidly spin its body to weaken its prey or tear off limbs (the "death roll").
When crocodiles see prey, they will duck under the water and when they reach their target, jump out and bite
